This course is designed to introduce you to welding and give you the basic skills that will enable you to complete simple welding tasks.
The content is ideal if you want to start from the beginning, build your skills up to take on more demanding welding courses or aim towards attaining employment in the industry.
Over two days, you’ll develop your practical skills, along with the relevant theory and safety training.
What will I Learn?
basic fundamentals of welding and metal work, including electric arc, arc welding (stick electrode), MIG and oxy cutting
safety precautions to be taken when welding and oxy cutting.
Entrance requirements & pre-requisites
You must be at least 16 years old to apply for this course. Exceptions to this age restriction may be considered. Contact us for further information.
For this course, you will need to:
provide photo ID to the trainer on the first day of the course
bring a pen and paper
wear fully covered, steel-capped, leather boots, 100% cotton long-sleeved shirts, and trousers or overalls.

Booking your short course is easy and starts online. Once you've completed your online booking, you can choose from the following convenient payment options:
Online: pay securely via our online payment portal.
Over the phone: we will call you to take EFTPOS payment over the phone using your credit or debit card.
In person: visit your nearest campus to pay by card.
Authority to Invoice: if you nominate a third party (such as your employer) to cover your course cost, we will email you an Authority to Invoice form.
