Introduction
Are you a woman or gender diverse person interested in finding out about a career in the trades?
This course will give you the opportunity to build confidence while exploring a range of traditionally male-dominated trade areas in a safe and supportive learning environment.
You will have the chance to experience industries including electrotechnology, building, plumbing, automotive, and engineering, and gain practical, hands-on experience to help you decide on future study or career options.

This short course is designed to prepare you with the foundation skills and knowledge needed to consider further training or employment options.
You will be connected with our Building Women’s Careers Regional Equity Coordinator and relevant student support services to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning experience.
Work experience, guest speakers, excursions and mentors will provide you with opportunities to interact with other women and gender diverse people within male-dominated trade areas.
Course Outcomes and Career Opportunities
You may pathway into an apprenticeship in electro technology, building, cabinet making, plumbing, automotive and engineering or ancillary building trades such as plasterers, tilers, and builders' labourers.
