Manoj makes career change with an electrical apprenticeship
He had previously worked in cafes where he was required to work at night and on weekends and wanted to do something different.
“I wanted to study where I could re-skill and find a balance for my future,” he said.
Manoj was given the opportunity to work and study together and decided to study as an electrician, completing an electrical pre-apprenticeship.
He was then given a six-month work trail and from there he gained an apprenticeship as an electrician at SWI Machinery in Warrnambool.
He is now a third-year apprentice, studying at South West TAFE, and said he loved his job and work.
“I was so lucky to be studying at South West TAFE Warrnambool because all of my classmates and teachers were really great and helped whenever I needed it,” he said.
Manoj said that once he completed his apprenticeship he wanted to continue to work and gain experience in the electrical field.
