Cody wins the barbering award at the 2023 Pure Awards

“I love the aesthetics of a barber shop and I love making people feel good about themselves after they get a cut or a shave,” he said.

Cody studied the Certificate III in Barbering and said the opportunity to run his own business one day was also very appealing.

He said he enjoyed his training at Pure Academy and found the teachers to be extremely knowledgeable.

“The teachers know how to teach in multiple different ways for all different types of learning styles,” he said.

Cody was recognised for his hard work when he was awarded the Certificate III in Barbering Student of the Year at South West TAFE’s Pure Awards recently.

Cody said his goal was to one day open his own barber shop and to also create a mobile barber service where he would travel to other smaller regional towns.
