Aspiring Chef Growing Skills Through VET DSS Cookery Course

Ethan Schache is using a VET DSS course in cookery to develop his skills ready for a career in the food industry.

I am studying the Certificate II in Cookery at South West TAFE, while still attending Merri River School.

I have only just started the course but have really enjoyed learning a variety of new skills.

I have loved cooking since I was very young and this course is giving me an opportunity to expand my knowledge.

We get to make a wide variety of different dishes and it’s helped me to realise that I definitely want to be a chef in the future.

I am enjoying the different aspects of this course and am hoping this course will help me to figure out what direction I want to take my cooking in.
